Life In The Desert
I live in a small town 18 miles from Phoenix,
Arizona. I lived in Alaska for 29 years, 7 in Juneau and 22 in Anchorage. I moved to Arizona in 1994 because I was tired of
the three seasons in Alaska which are July, August and winter.
I am single, 6 feet tall, 195 pounds, blue eyes and thick, wavy, gray hair. I don't smoke or drink
except for a glass of wine on special occasions.
My hobbies include driving all over the country in my car. I have
driven in all 50 states and most of the Canadian provinces. I have worked on computers for the past 40 years and still do
for a few select friends.
I play a lot of golf and was a six handicap before I met my ex-wife's lawyer. Thanks to
him, I am now a ten.
I enjoy western and popular music such as Barbra Streisand, John Denver, Willie Nelson, and others
of that ilk. I like movies that are made outside of a computer, love stories, mysteries and historical movies. My favorite
historical figure is Joan de Arc and before you scoff, go read what she accomplished as a seventeen-year-old girl leading
the French army. She is probably responsible for the last victory by the French army.
I worked on the Apollo Lunar
Landing Project from 1967 to 1969, when the first manned lunar landing was completed. I was placed on the Lunar Roll of Honor
for "Significant contributions to the first manned lunar landing". Before you ask, I lit the match.
I raised my step-grandson
for seven years beginning when he was three. I never had any children of my own so he taught me more than I ever taught him.
He still is.
